Job Overview

The postholder will work strategically and closely with colleagues across the system, as part of the ICB Medicines Optimisation team, developing and implementing the Workforce element of the Medicines Strategy in their locality, to meet the ICB needs for a transformational change in the pharmacy workforce ensuring it is fit for the future and operates as one workforce.
The role will also have a system wide portfolio which compliments their place-based responsibilities.
They will be based in a locality and engage with all stakeholders from multiple organisations across the Lancashire and South Cumbria healthcare system and wider Northwest region, including NHSE WT&E, universities, Further Education colleges, LPC, LPN, Community Pharmacy, PCNs, general practice and NHS trusts.

Main Duties of the Job
* Implement, at locality level, the delivery of the pharmacy workforce element of the 5-year ICB Medicines Optimisation strategy.
* Support the system integration of pharmacy and the workforce to support national and ICB priorities.
* Support the ICB Pharmacy workforce and integration lead with researching, scoping, developing, and service delivery of a transformational and multi-organisational whole system wide ‘deanery style’ model for pharmacy workforce training.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The main duties of the role are:
* Plan, organise and implement the pharmacy workforce element of the ICB Medicines Optimisation long-term strategy.
* Implement the people directorate ICB Education and Training plan for the pharmacy workforce.
* Research, develop, co-ordinate and support implementation of a service development for a training and education ‘deanery style’ model for early years pharmacy staff.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
* Relevant post registration qualification.
Experience
* Leadership experience and/or formal management qualification or equivalent.
* Knowledge or experience of working with workforce development, training or education.
* Experience in identifying, leading and initiating change and developments.
Skills
* Ability to engage with and work collaboratively across multiple organisations.
* Proven engagement and negotiating skills.
* Ability to train healthcare professionals both individually and in groups.
* Ability to lead and manage discrete projects from concept to completion.
