My client, a respected town planning consultancy in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Principal Planner to join their team. Key Responsibilities
As a Principal Town Planner, you will:
* Lead Planning Projects: Take charge of complex planning projects, using your broad knowledge and experience to deliver high:quality outcomes for clients.
* Manage Planning Applications: Oversee and process planning applications, providing strategic advice and producing detailed reports and recommendations.
* Prepare and Present Appeals: Represent clients by preparing and presenting evidence for planning appeals.
* Mentor and Support Teams: Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, ensuring a clear understanding of current planning issues and legislation.
* Drive Business Development: Play a key role in business development, fostering repeat work, and contributing to the companys growth.
* Client Relations: Maintain excellent communication with clients, ensuring that reports and recommendations are delivered professionally and on time.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold a degree in a town planning discipline and ideally be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
* Have 5+ years of relevant experience in either the Local Authority or private sector, with a proven ability to handle complex planning projects.
* Be able to manage multiple projects and workloads independently, ensuring both commercial and contractual needs are met.
* Have in:depth knowledge of planning legislation and the ability it across various planning sectors.
* Possess strong leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor junior staff and lead by example.
* Be ambitious and eager to enhance the companys reputation for innovation, quality, and timeliness in delivering planning solutions.
