Hugely successful, growing business based in Harrogate currently require a Finance Manager to join their expanding team. Working in a well-established business, with continuous development at the heart of what they do; you will be involved in a variety of duties. The role is for a Finance Manager - offering an excellent all-round finance opportunity, with varied responsibility. They will provide huge scope for progression both parallel and vertical opportunities that will open up during your time in this business.
Reporting Directly into the Finance Director you will be responsible for:
* Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the accounting function so that ledgers are up to date and regularly reconciled.
* Developing and producing insightful management reporting, including monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
* Develop, implement, and monitor finance processes, systems and controls over expenditure, reporting, budgeting, and cash management.
* Ensuring adherence to accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
* Managing the annual external audit.
* Ensure that VAT regulations are adhered to, and that monthly return submission and payment deadlines are met.
* Proactively develop an understanding of the requirements of the business, by developing strong working relationships with colleagues, and strive to meet these requirements. Aim to integrate the finance function into the business.
* Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure that communication and information flow between the Commercial and Finance Departments (and vice versa) is regular, meaningful, and focused on business improvement.
* Develop robust, high quality cash flow and P&L forecasting models and processes for timely forecast updates.
* Improve short-term cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
* Provide ad-hoc analysis to Management to inform decision making.
* Coach and mentor direct reports to maximise their potential and maintain their commitment and motivation.
* Lead and promote the correct behaviors towards Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in the workplace, treating all stakeholders with dignity and respect.
* Undertake performance reviews for direct reports.
* Participate in the development of training plans for direct reports as appropriate.
* Ensure compliance and adherence with all Company policies, procedures, processes, and tools applicable to the role.
Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate the below experience:
* ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with previous strong experiences within the finance function.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Ability to adapt and pick up projects on an ad hoc basis.
