Technical Support Engineer
Job Location: Near Ringwood, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: depending on level of experience - £30,000 - £42,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5.15pm with a 1pm finish on Friday
Holidays: 22 days rising to 25 with service
An opportunity has arisen for either an experienced or graduate Engineer to work for a leading fluid transfer equipment supply a leading fluid transfer equipment manufacturing / suppliers as a Technical Support Engineer.
The role is office based and will offer so much variety but requires someone who also likes to get hands on helping with mechanical work within the workshop from time to help out.
The position will see you dealing with enquiries, helping customer choose the right products for their requirements with some of these having to be specifically designed or modified for their requirements, ordering parts, making sure shipment is done, answering any technical queries and helping out when required in the workshop putting customer orders together.
The role requires someone who is mechanically minded who is either time served or with formal qualifications who is competent in using CAD software.
This is an exciting role working for a nice company that will see you undertake a variety of tasks.
Some of your duties will include:
• CAD design work / creation of simple documents
• System / parts design
• Parts procurement / liaising with engineering and suppliers
• Handling sales enquiries, advising of suitable products and sending out quotes for works
• Technical support for customers / colleagues
• Running reports on stock management, pricing updates using excel and the ERP system
• Helping the technicians with any mechanical trials or works orders in the workshop
Experience required:
• Mechanical Engineering knowledge – either from a college course, apprenticeship, graduate or time served
• Experience, knowledge or exposure to design using a CAD package
• Technically minded
• High level of computer / IT literacy
• Ability to maintaining accurate records
