The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent). Experienced in teaching Art at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience teaching Art at Key Stage 5 (A-Level Art, BTEC Art and Design, or similar) is desirable but not essential. Proficient in a range of art techniques and media, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art. Passionate about art and able to inspire students of all abilities. An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Committed to raising student achievement and fostering creativity, critical thinking, and visual literacy. A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community, including extra-curricular art activities. Dedicated to their own professional development. A dedicated Art Teacher Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Art lessons across the relevant Key Stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback, both written and through practical critiques. Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress. Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating studio environment that promotes creativity, experimentation, and artistic development. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Art and Design department and across the school. Contribute to the development and delivery of extra-curricular art activities, such as art clubs, workshops, and exhibitions. Organize and prepare student artwork for displays and exhibitions. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress. Comply with Health and Safety at all times.
