Due to continued growth, strong client base & increasing pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within our specialist sub-contract company.
Working with an experienced team of Quantity Surveyors, your responsibilities will include:
1. Liaising with Contracts Managers regarding any potential disputes or disruption on projects.
2. Reviewing sub-contract documentation for any differences between tender & quoting, highlighting clauses that will need investigation or amendment.
3. Assisting with preparing final accounts, substantiation & any contract notices required.
4. Liaising with Main contractors regarding instructions & variations for works.
5. Assisting estimating team with pricing variations & guidance when complying with tender enquiries.
Requirements:
1. Strong IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
2. Ability to negotiate and present a professional image with clients.
3. Understanding of construction Health & Safety & promoting safe working practice.
4. Recognized qualification in Quantity Surveying, or working towards.
5. Good attention to detail, able to focus & find key information while working both by yourself and as part of a friendly team.
6. Occasional site visits; primarily an office-based role in Tewkesbury.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
1. Some experience in preparation & review of main contract documents & sub-contract orders.
2. Good understanding of JCT D&B contracts & knowledge of construction law & principles; some exposure to NEC contracts would be beneficial.
3. Experience of working in commercial construction as a Main contractor or Sub-contractor would be beneficial, although not necessary.
4. Good organizational skills & ability to multi-task, working within a medium-sized team of Contracts Managers, Estimators & Directors.
