An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified Family Therapist to work in the West Norfolk Youth Service, based at Thurlow House in Kings Lynn. This is an innovative service offering assessment and treatment of young people aged between 14 and 25 years with a variety of complex mental health needs. Therapeutic modalities offered within the service include CBT, ACT, MBT, family therapy and EMDR.
The post holder will have experience in a CAMHS or related setting. You will have excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in working with young people. The majority of family work is likely to be with 14-18-year-olds and their families, but there may be cases above this age range where systemic factors are a key maintaining factor.
We have good links with other Child and Family teams based within West Norfolk and there would be opportunities for cross working and linking with other family therapists as part of the role.
Main duties of the job
You will be asked to undertake assessments of young people; evidence based systemic interventions and contribute to the wider multi-disciplinary team. Our hope would be that the post holder would contribute to development of a Family Therapy Reflecting Team.
You will provide systemic work within the team working with young people and their families and manage a complex caseload which will include care coordination and multiagency working. You will offer specialist consultation and support to professional colleagues, working as part of a diverse multi-disciplinary team including psychologists, mental health practitioners, psychological therapists, psychiatrists, and assistant practitioners.
Candidates will have completed an MA/MSc Systemic Family Therapy and have registration with UKCP as a Systemic & Family Psychotherapist.
