Knowledge & Experience: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification with a strong background in financial operations management. Proven experience in senior financial roles, with a minimum of 10 years in similar finance roles. Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, business partnering, and financial analysis. Experience with cost management, revenue generation strategies, and operational efficiency improvements. Extensive knowledge of internal controls, accounting standards and principles, and regulatory compliance. You have experience with MS Excel using advanced formulae to analyse data. Strong proficiency with financial systems and reporting software. Experience with Sage, Xero, and Power Bi is beneficial. You are a strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Have strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach. Ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Proven exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. You work with a high level of integrity, with a commitment to ethical financial practices. Day-to-day responsibilities: Lead, develop, and review financial plans, budgets, and forecasts across the group, ensuring alignment with business goals. Develop and monitor financial performance against budgets, providing insights and recommendations for financial decision-making. Drive cross-functional collaboration to identify revenue opportunities and cost-effective strategies while maintaining operational effectiveness. Partner with senior leadership and departmental heads to provide financial analysis and support business development and revenue growth initiatives. Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control framework to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Provide strategic insights through monthly financial analysis, highlighting key performance indicators, variances, and trends. Lead financial oversight of fixed assets, ensuring effective fixed asset register maintenance and evolution. Enhance and streamline reporting processes, ensuring business stakeholders have access to actionable financial data. Oversee the integration and optimisation of financial systems to ensure accurate, timely reporting and data consistency across platforms. Work closely with the Management Accountant in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements. Review and prepare month-end and year-end financial accounts for the group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Line Management: Lead and manage the accounting team including the Management Accountant. Leading and developing your direct report and subsequent team members where necessary. Regular 1-2-1s and open dialogue, ensuring your report feels supported and has a clear understanding of their roles, responsibilities and measures of success. Following internal people processes such as probation reviews and annual appraisals, ensuring timely responses and ensuring engagement in internal surveys. A working knowledge of our People processes, ensuring that your direct reports know where to locate them in Trainual and that they understand to come to you with questions. Being an active and engaged member of the Line Manager community including attending Line Manager meetings and forums and keeping a close eye on the Line Manager teams channels to ensure you are informed of the latest updates from the people team and cascading messages to your reports. Engaging in recruitment for hiring within your team, acting as the Hiring Manager where appropriate, and following our standard people processes. Leading in onboarding new team members and collaborating with the People Team to ensure learning plans, required training, and support structures are in place. Taking an active interest in your team's health and well-being, monitoring workload, and reaching out to the People team for support where needed.
