We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Onley and Rye Hill, both located in Rugby.
This role will be spent 50% on site at Onley and 50% at Rye Hill, both located very close to each other.
Hours
37.5 hours a week working 2.5 days at Onley and 2.5 days at Rye Hill, either 8-4 or 8.30-4.30pm.
Salary
This position is full-time, with an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
As a Learning Disabilities Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
* Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
* Assess patient’s health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
* Provide advice, support, and information while managing a case load of patients.
* Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, and evidence-based care.
* Share knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications required:
* Qualified LD Nurse - NMC registration.
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
* Experience of working with patients who have complex mental health conditions.
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
