Project Officer-Children’s Services #0009F3171
Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.
Barnsley is a place of possibilities.
We are a growing Programme Office that manages, drives and supports the delivery of our Children’s Services Transformational Programme.
We are committed and passionate about helping, protecting and caring for children and young people across Barnsley. Our vision for Children’s Services is ambitious, we know what needs to be done and we will deliver on our plans.
Our environment is fast-paced and sensitive. You will be supporting projects that range in scale and size, across Children’s Services. Some of our projects include the implementation and roll out of a social care practice model across the service, and with partners, supporting the development and introduction of new services to children, and helping to embed key strategies along with many more child-focused projects.
The work will be varied and exciting; your role will enable you to drive service improvement and build up your knowledge and experience across many areas of Children’s Services. More importantly, the role will be extremely rewarding, as our changes will mean we offer better services to children, young people, and families across the Borough.
What you’ll need
As Project Officer, you will support both small and large projects across Children’s Services. Your project skills will enable you to support and maintain progress effectively, ensuring we deliver good quality, inclusive, and collaborative projects on time.
You will need to bring with you your project skills and experience so that you can hit the ground running; in this role, your talent for communication will be as important as your skills in organizing and problem-solving. You will need to prioritize your workload effectively, support key meetings, and build effective working relationships with managers, internal colleagues, and partners.
Here at Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do. We want people with a ‘can-do attitude’ and a positive outlook, someone that will work independently and be part of our small but growing team, with supportive and empowering ethics.
Experience in children’s services will be helpful but not essential.
