Primary Purpose of position: In partnership with Director, Finance and direct reports, provide financial support to the Procurement and Supply Chain Execution teams to deliver their strategic initiatives.
What you will be responsible for:
1. Develop and implement standardized global supplier negotiation processes to optimize purchasing of $6B+ annual spend and ensure optimal contract terms to leverage Ball's purchasing scale.
2. Work directly with the Global VPs of Procurement/SC execution and their teams to develop and monitor financial KPI's that drive incremental EVA$ through optimization and lower procurement costs.
3. Support procurement regional execution teams to optimize purchase costs and metal supplier mix. Provide strategic advice and recommendations to leadership as it relates to procurement and in particular metal management and metal costs.
4. Financial lead for various cost savings projects within procurement and supply chain execution.
5. Partner with the global treasury team on key movements in commodity markets.
6. Support warehouse and freight strategy development.
7. Lead financial process and data improvement projects in the procurement and supply chain areas. Drive cross functional raw materials inventory management working with supply chain planning and procurement stakeholders.
8. Manage global metal pricing database including current and future predictive pricing to support regional financial planning and accounting.
What are we looking for?
1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Finance or Accounting.
2. 5 years of experience in relevant finance and accounting experience, with a focus on metal-related industries preferred.
3. People management, including leading and developing teams.
4. Thriving in a matrixed environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
5. Analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
6. Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Working knowledge of the following areas:
1. Relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls related to metal operations.
Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Luton, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
