Business Overview Finance and Accounting provide business partnership and specialist accounting and financial analysis support to our investors and our internal teams through: Finance Strategy, Business Planning and Budgeting, Workforce Planning, Fund Accounting, Corporate Financial and Management Reporting, Corporate Tax and Regulatory Reporting, Accounts Receivable and Payable, and Procurement. Corporate Services provides administration support to the business and manage our office facilities – along with reception, office services and client services. The Role This position will require a time commitment of 3 days a week The role is responsible for the provision of legal advice, risk and opportunity assessment and commercial support across the business, primarily to support the corporate contracting function for IFM’s corporate business across the EMEA region. The role will include: Leading/assisting in corporate contract requirements. providing legal advice in real time on a range of contractual and licensing (including privacy, data security) to IFM’s corporate business units. reviewing, drafting and negotiating third-party contracts (including services agreements and technology contracts) for all business units (in particular Clients & Solutions, Operations and People & Culture). assisting corporate contracting workstreams for major corporate projects and initiatives, working with IFM’s other regional legal teams (APAC and NAM). developing precedent documents, process improvements and streamlining initiatives. providing training to Commercial and other teams (as required). preparing guidance notes, templates and memos capturing corporate knowledge. subject to capacity, providing legal support to the fundraising and investment functions for IFM’s investment business across the EMEA region. Your Background and Experience Minimum 3 years of relevant experience gained at a reputable law firm / in-house in Commercial or Corporate. Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, ideally including some procurement experience. Expertise in providing clear and accurate legal advice. In-house experience (or in‐house secondment experience) in a relevant organisation advantageous. Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the UK or Australia. Strong commercial/business acumen. Team player who is willing to assist others as/when required, and work collaboratively with the broader business. Good judgment, discretion and diplomacy. Ability to make sensible and pragmatic decisions, and to understand the wider business context. Show strong initiative – ability to proactively identify issues and progress tasks. Strong work ethic – ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and to manage multiple tasks/stakeholders. Possess a can‐do, hands‐on attitude. Establishes working relationships with stakeholders and builds rapport to become a trusted advisor Understanding of relevant legal documentation and concepts. Strong drafting, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain legal issues in a simple and effective manner and draft legal documents clearly and concisely. Ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders.
