Job summary We are seeking 2 experienced and motivated Clinical Coding Team Leaders to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of clinical coders, ensuring the accurate and timely coding of patient records in compliance with national coding standards. This role involves leadership, training and mentoring of team members, while also maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy in the coding process. Main duties of the job Manage a team of clinical coders to effectively deliver the clinical coding service requirements, whilst ensuring the appropriate performance standards, health and wellbeing of all team members. Undertake annual appraisals, quarterly health and wellbeing assessments, back to work interviews, 1-2-1 reviews and any other required processes with team members. Provide a high-quality service ensuring that the performance targets are consistently achieved. Work with those you support to develop a collaborative working partnership which positively contributes to their overall efficiency and role performance. Plan & deliver regular team meetings providing service updates and other required information. Undertake internal clinical coding audits on team members to ensure high quality clinical coding accuracy is maintained. Review complex cases, including often complex deceased patient coding to ensure a high level of accuracy and completeness. Complete clinical coding mortality reviews in line with the trusts mortality processes. Monitor and review depth of coding across all areas, paying particular attention to those areas with a low depth of coding and work with the relevant clinical teams to establish reasons for this and promote improvements.
