Accounts Assistant (Part Time - 20 hours per week) £25K - £27K FTE (plus excellent package) Our client is a leading investor looking to recruit a part time Accounts Assistant to support the Project Accountant and wider team with the financial management of a portfolio of high profile assets. On offer is an excellent salary (£25K - £27K FTE), up to 20% bonus, 10% pension contribution, private medical cover and 29 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). You will be joining a highly regarded team who are committed to staff development and training. Key Responsibilities: To prepare payments from batches of approved invoices. To prepare and post invoices to debtors and creditors ledgers. To assist in the resolution of invoicing and payment queries. Prepare reconciliations of sales, purchases, nominal ledger and to reconcile bank statements and supplier statements. Reconcile VAT accounts and prepare and submit VAT returns To assist in the preparation of monthly working papers Assist the Project Accountant in preparing the year-end audit file Assist with the administration and reporting of VAT and CIS Comply with financial controls in accordance with company policy, practices and systems. About You: Plans and organises effectively to deliver objectives Establishes priorities and sets goals Focuses on timely implementation of tasks and is not reluctant to commit to action Makes sense of information, analyses problems logically and recommends solutions Thinks creatively and systematically to consider the wider consequences Communicates clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people both formally and informally Listens effectively and probes for information Your Technical Understanding: An understanding of basic accounting principles (Accounting qualification AAT would be advantageous) Knowledge of VAT and CIS for making periodic returns and payments Intermediate Excel spreadsheet skills Working knowledge of accounting systems (IRIS Financials would be an advantage) for recording invoice and journal transactions and for preparing reconciliations IT literate, especially with Microsoft Office Please apply in confidence, attaching your CV.
