About the Employer
I am the employer and sister to my brother who has been allocated a direct payment to support him on social activities and attending appointments at times My brother is independent and resides in his own home. My brother has a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD and mild learning difficulties. We are seeking a PA to provide my brother with support to engage in activities of his choice out in the community, encourage him to meet others, try new things and build friendships, helping to develop and support his life skills and independence. The PA role will include someone to assist and attend appointments with him, help motivate and promote him in keeping a tidy house and helping him to manage appointments. The PA may also be involved with prompting and supporting my brother to look after himself with personal hygiene and appearance and encouraging him to complete general domestic tasks within the home if time allows. My brother enjoys being active so would enjoy going to the gym, cinema, going for walks to the beach and being outdoors and conversing with others. He has a passion for art and enjoys Anime, anything related to Japanese animation. The PA would be required to assist with reading and managing correspondence, assisting in keeping an up-to-date calendar. There may be some requirements to prompt or support with personal care.
Summary of duties we are seeking someone to assist and support in my brother with tasks such as:
• Going to the beach/for walks
• Going to the gym
• Going to the cinema
• Providing companionship and developing friendships
• Motivating and prompting him to keep a tidy house
• Support to attend appointments
• Motivating and prompting him to maintain personal hygiene
• Some domestic duties
• Providing companionship and social outings
• My brothers’ needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this.
You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
Transport Requirement:
Car driver preferred but not essential.

When you are Required:
Hours per week: 9 hrs per week Some flexibility may be required. The days and times may vary depending on my brother’s employment Rota or whether a specific activity/appointment is identified or organized. Details will be discussed and agreed in advance.
