Job summary
The role of the Nurse or Paramedic Non-Medical Prescriber will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and discharge of scheduled and unscheduled cases with an urgent nature and assessment initial treatment and referral of emergency cases in patients of all post holder will use their non-medical prescribing qualification to support patient care according to the local formulary. As senior clinicians they will also support staff who issue medications via PGD with their prescribing decisions.
The post holder will take charge of the day to day running of the UTC and in the absence of the operations manager will manage general enquiries, staffing issues, complaints and support junior staff as required.
You will be well supported by a friendly clinical and administrative team. Induction and training will be provided. SWASFT will also provide your medical indemnity. This is an evolving role within the Trust as is subject to change and development as required by the organisation.
Main duties of the job
1. Autonamous assessment, treatment and discharge of adults and children presenting a wide range of minor injuries and minor illnesses in accordance with local polices and national clinical guidelines
2. Day to day running of the Urgent Care Treatment Centre
3. To ensure that all patients' individual needs are assessed on admissions, their care planned appropriately, delivered in accordance with best practice and evaluate
4. Assist the Operations Manager to improve patient care and deputise in their absence
