Main duties of the job
As a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare's Merlin Court Care Home in Marlborough, Wiltshire, you will be responsible for ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained. This will involve undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems to ensure the facilities are fully functional. Other responsibilities include supporting new residents to arrange their rooms, undertaking routine re-decoration, and providing out-of-hours emergency service.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.
Other responsibilitieswillinclude:
* Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
* Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
* Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
* Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
* Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

* Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
