About the Role
We are looking for a Scientific Editor to join our team in Europe and contribute to Cancer Cell and Trends in Cancer. Reporting to the Editors-in-Chief, you will work across both journals, bringing a strong background in cancer research and a passion for scientific communication. This role offers the opportunity to engage with the cancer research community, assess cutting-edge submissions, and help shape the journals’ future directions.
Responsibilities
* Evaluating research submissions and providing editorial recommendations for Cancer Cell.
* Commissioning and editing Reviews, Perspectives, and front matter for Trends in Cancer.
* Managing the peer-review process to ensure high standards of author service.
* Building relationships with researchers and recruiting innovative content.
* Representing the journals at scientific conferences and institutions, primarily in Europe.
* Collaborating with editorial teams and academic Advisory Board members to enhance journal impact.
* Contributing to strategy development through data-driven innovation approaches.
* Strengthening journal visibility and organizing relevant scientific events.
Requirements
* A PhD or MD in cancer research or clinical oncology.
* Strong scientific communication skills and a genuine passion for oncology.
* Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
* Critical thinking skills and an enthusiasm for learning.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global team.
* A proactive attitude with a strategic, solution-oriented approach.
