PMP Utilities, part of M Group Services, is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer, operating out of our depot in Burnley. PMP Utilities is a member of the Water Division of M Group Services, the leading essential infrastructure services provider operating within water, energy, transport and telecommunication across the UK & Ireland. We work on hydraulics, rotating equipment, Victorian and modern plant and machinery, large diameter valves and pipework fittings, treatment plants Raw, Potable waste and predominantly within the Water Industry and we need to fault find and provide, sometimes, bespoke solutions to solve problems.
As the Field Service Engineer you will be part of our site based Operational team who are responsible for the delivery of our specialist engineering works.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who can fault find, repair and manufacture mechanical plant and machinery specialising in the water industry.
As the Field Service Engineer your duties & responsibilities will include:
1. Supervise the onsite teams to ensure works are carried out safely, on time and on budget
2. To promote and enforce safe working practices at all times without prejudice
3. As a Field Service Engineer you’ll have an inventive mind and be able to assess a mechanical failure
4. Liaison with client to understand root cause and communicate a solution
5. Through active supervision and site management, ensure projects are delivered on time and in budget
6. Develop an action plan, arrange ordering and manufacture of parts
7. Advise on RAMS production
The Field Service Engineer role is 90% based out on site with a team, working on all water industry assets from reservoirs to tap and toilet to river.
Once jobs are completed you need to be able to provide a written summary of the work completed with photographic evidence to help with the production of case studies, job completion reports etc.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
8. Mechanical engineering qualifications are preferred, although recognition will be given to industry experience and knowledge
9. Proven track record and experience of working in the Water Industry is desirable however training can be provided
10. Proven ability to work in and lead engineering teams safely and effectively
11. Ability to think outside the box in order to develop intelligent, engineered and bespoke solutions for our customers, covering reservoirs, the potable water and wastewater network and treatment plants
12. Willing to work in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces
13. Experience within the water industry - desirable
14. Full driving license required
