MFT Wythenshawe Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with extensive post-graduate experience and is now looking to expand their clinical and non-clinical skills and knowledge.
The post will offer rotations through a number of our speciality areas including; Complex Health, Cardiology/Respiratory medicine, Surgery, Plastics & Orthopaedics/Trauma, Stroke Rehabilitation and Cystic Fibrosis.
You will receive support from a clinical lead and team lead and have the opportunity to supervise and mentor junior staff members and students.
Main duties of the job
To work clinically in specialist rotational area. Completing relevant assessments, facilitating safe and timely discharges, completing access visits and home visits dependent on clinical area, attend Best Interest and discharge planning meetings, complete equipment adaptation risk assessments and order required equipment for patient discharge.
Supervise and mentor junior members of the team including B5, B4 and B3 team members, through supervision, appraisal, peer support and training opportunities.
Provide educator support for visiting students and apprentices.
Contribute to service development opportunities and participate in audits.
Support recruitment through shortlisting and interviewing.

Education/Qualifications
* BSc Hons Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy MSc
* Health & Care Professions Council Registration
* Membership of relevant special interest groups
* Member of RCOT or other specialist group
* Clinical Educators Course
Experience
* Previous NHS post-graduate clinical experience
* A broad range of post-graduate experience as a Band 5 and/or Band 6 in a variety of clinical settings
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Supervision and education of non-qualified staff, students, apprentices or assistants
* Experience around Complex Discharge and planning
* Knowledge of the working of community therapy services
* Clinical experience as rotational band 6 Occupational Therapist
* Basic Splinting skills
* Involvement with audit and research
* Membership of department/trust groups e.g; Health & Safety
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills - clinical reasoning skills
Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for practice
* Well developed contemporary theoretical underpinning knowledge of Occupational Therapy
* Aware of the political/national situation

* Flexibility to meet service delivery needs over 7 days in the Acute trust and the Community settings
* Ability to work to a high standard in a range of teams
* Full UK driving license
