Rugby Borough Council is looking to recruit one full-time, enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and customer-focused individual to work within our 24/7 Control Centre team. This position involves working 12-hour shifts on a rota basis, covering weekends and bank holidays, including Christmas.
This role is primarily nights-based, working from 6pm to 6am, although some flexibility to work day shifts is required to provide cover in an emergency.
* The successful candidate will be required to operate the Council's Lifeline system.
* Taking emergency calls from our service users.
* Managing distressing calls.
* The Council also manages the out-of-hours enquiries for various teams within the Council, including emergency repairs and homeless enquiries.
* They will possess excellent customer service skills, clear spoken English, a calm and confident manner and approach.
* Competent IT skills and the ability to work in a close team, as well as occasional lone working.
Candidates must possess a full valid driving licence and have use of a car. An enhanced DBS check will also be required. Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or a call centre background would be advantageous. Flexibility to cover holidays/sickness is essential.
