Environmental Scientist Level II
Role Context:
The Environmental Officer will report to the Environmental Management and Monitoring Lead.
You'll be:
1. Site environmental management and compliance
2. Site audits and audit reporting
3. Management plans (develop/review), e.g. develops or provides inputs to the development of the construction environmental management plans as required
4. Toolbox talks prep and present
5. Document control
6. Impacts and aspects register updates
7. Identification of permitting requirements through focal point roles
8. Liaises daily with the Contractor’s site personnel, providing guidance regarding compliance requirements and corrective actions
9. Ensures all required samplings/testing are done as required
10. Assists in the review and close out of rectifications arising from daily inspections, audits, or compliance review process
11. Liaises with immediate supervisor, highlighting areas of concern
You'll have:
1. Degree in environmental sciences
2. Environmental experience in the mining and/or construction industry
3. Experience in environmental management
4. Ability to understand and explain all project environmental requirements
5. Physical ability and enthusiasm to work on site and conduct inspections
6. Effective communication and interaction with construction crews in the field and management teams
7. Concise report writing on a daily basis
