Job Description

If so, the maternity clerical team are looking for a friendly, professional and reliable individual to join our team. This role is ward-based with flexible working and training opportunities available. We also offer the chance to work across the service in our antenatal and outpatient areas where further opportunities and experience can be gained.

Main duties will be to welcome and register patients upon entry to the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal wards. Answering telephone calls, forwarding any clinical queries to the midwife in charge. Administrative duties include assisting in booking patient appointments, admission and discharge of patients, scanning of confidential patient information and liaising with the booking and outpatient teams.
Shift patterns are flexible, consisting of 12 hour shifts across weekdays, weekends and nights to provide 24/7 cover for the wards across the team.
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) or GCSE Level 9-4.
* Additional qualifications in Business Administration/Customer Service.
* Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook).
* Experience of using IT systems.
* Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment.
Experience
* Proven experience in working busy office/administrative environment or experience of working with the public/customer facing.
* NHS/Healthcare-related reception/administrative experience.
