The Planning Obligations Monitoring Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that planning obligations within our jurisdiction are managed, monitored, and enforced effectively. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can navigate the complexities of planning policies and regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of planning agreements, often referred to as Section 106 agreements, ensuring that developers adhere to the obligations stipulated during the planning process. This includes monitoring contributions towards affordable housing, community facilities, and transportation improvements. Your expertise will be essential in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to these obligations, providing insights that support strategic planning and decision-making. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including local government departments, developers, and community groups, is essential for fostering a transparent and effective planning process. Responsibilities
Monitor and enforce planning obligations and Section 106 agreements.
Collect, analyze, and report on data related to planning obligations.
Coordinate with developers to ensure compliance with obligations.
Liaise with local government departments and stakeholders to communicate planning outcomes.
Maintain comprehensive records and databases of planning obligations.
Prepare reports for senior management and external stakeholders on compliance status.
Participate in public consultations and community engagement activities regarding planning obligations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in planning, environmental science, or a related field.
Experience in planning policy and legal frameworks, particularly Section 106 agreements.
Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of planning software and database management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Pay Per Hour: £44.45
