Role Overview
They are seeking a talented and experienced Estimator to join their growing team in Nottingham. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in developing accurate cost estimates for large-scale fire and security system projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. You will work closely with clients, suppliers, and the engineering team to provide precise estimates for fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems across sectors like healthcare, education, and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for fire and security projects, including fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to analyze project specifications and drawings.
Identify project risks and propose cost-effective solutions.
Source and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather the most competitive pricing.
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and provide technical support as required.
Review project proposals and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Ensure estimates meet company and client budgetary constraints while maintaining profitability.
Submit tender bids and handle post-tender negotiations.
Experience & Skills Required
Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within the fire and security sectors.
Strong understanding of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
Background in fire protection, security, or mechanical engineering is highly desirable.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in estimation software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
