Full and part time hours available
Are you young at heart and dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others? We have a vacancy for you. We are seeking compassionate support workers for a new service supporting young adults with learning and other disabilities in the Stratton St Margaret area of Swindon.
As a member of the team, you will be supporting day-to-day life, including a variety of activities to provide essential care and assistance, such as shopping, going to the gym, swimming, cycling, cinema, and travelling around the area and beyond. Ideally, a car driver with business insurance is preferred but not essential.
A range of shifts is available, including 1:1 support, earlies, lates, long days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins, as we provide support around the clock. If you have some restrictions, that is okay; we have a team of bank staff who come in and work with us when they have some free time.
As a support worker, you will be assisting with day-to-day living, including activities such as shopping, personal care, medication support, help at mealtimes, some light household duties, and making that all-important nighttime cuppa or supper before bedtime.
As a support worker, do you describe yourself as:
* Friendly
* Sociable and enjoying a range of activities
* Able to support someone to learn new things and develop independence
* Having a positive outlook
Are you able to show that you share our values and are committed to supporting people to get the most out of their day?
Experience is not necessarily required, as we offer excellent levels of professional training to all our support workers, including 1-2-1 on-the-job coaching and learning, supported by additional educational qualifications if you require further development. You’ll be joining a great team of people who are passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic; they will work with you to deliver an outstanding level of care and support.
At Milestones Trust, we recognize that without the hard work, commitment, and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:
* 30 days annual leave entitlement
* Company pension scheme to help grow your retirement pot
* Learning and development opportunities to help you build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications
* Health Cash Plan on completion of probation, giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments (e.g., dental, therapies, optical, maternity/paternity, NHS prescriptions)
* Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
* Get paid when you want – access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
* Access to an Employee Discount Platform from day one, with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers
* An employee referral scheme that allows you to earn money for referring friends and family
