Job Description
1. Report to the transport office at the start of shift
2. Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
3. Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene
4. Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department
5. Maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance
6. Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
7. Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
8. Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure
9. Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks
10. Make deliveries to customers’ premises, acting in a professional manner at all times
11. Immediately report any problems regarding delivery arrival times, delays or discrepancies with loads
12. Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
13. Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer Services
14. Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery point
15. Ensure correct completion of a defect report as and when required
16. Any other duties as reasonably required
17. Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business
Qualifications
18. Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence and valid DCPC
19. Excellent attention to detail
20. Ability to work without direct supervision
21. Adaptable and methodical approach to work/ training
22. Conscientious and reliable
23. Professional and approachable
24. Excellent communication skills
25. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
