Consultant in Obs & Gynae with a Special Interest in Subfertility

Applications are invited for a 10 PA Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in subfertility and reproductive health.
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, to work within an established team of 32 Consultants at the Trust.
The role is cross-site across the 2 sites of Epsom and St Helier Hospitals. The on-call commitments for obstetrics will be at the St Helier site with a 1:3 cover.

Main duties of the job
The role is multi-site for all activities, there will also be requirements to work at St Helier Hospital, and when the new hospital is built at Sutton, acute work will be undertaken at the Sutton site. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting assisted reproduction, one-stop fertility clinics, and acute gynaecology cover. In addition, they will provide consultant-led Labour Ward.
The trust has a consistent 7-day working on the labour ward and cross-site working for all members of staff. The Trust also has a consultant of the week to exclusively cover emergency care in gynaecology at the St. Helier's site. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in both these activities.
The new Consultant will also have a shared workload in supervision and training junior doctors in the Labour Ward, antenatal/postnatal, and emergency care.

Qualifications and Training
* Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC
* Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CCST or equivalent
* Appropriate higher medical qualification i.e. MRCOG or equivalent
* ATSM in labour ward practice
* ATSM subfertility and Reproductive health
* Experience in working in a busy assisted conception unit
* ATSM / SITM in acute Gynaecology and early pregnancy
* ATSM Research experience
Clinical Experience
* High standard of clinical skill and expertise in the specialty
* Expertise in managing complex gynaecology cases in an MDT environment
* Able to contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota for the specialty
* Setting up of specialized clinic/services in gynaecology
* Experience in early pregnancy & gynaecology scanning
Management & Administrative Experience
* Has attended a recognised management training event or will have such training on completion of CCT
