Company Overview: They are a family-run, RCVS-accredited hospital and Emergency Service Clinic, providing OOH and referral support to 16 referring surgeries. This is run alongside a thriving first-opinion business, meaning they get the best of both worlds: the case variety you expect to find in a busy general practice and the continuity to work this caseload up and provide high-quality, advanced, referral-level care to patients in-house.
They are always looking to progress and increase the services they provide; a recent extension has tripled their working space, allowed them to grow their team, offer even more flexibility in working patterns, provide further progression opportunities, and expand their ability to provide in-house CPD and training. Even more recently they have started working with an external CT imaging provider, further improving case continuity for vets and clients.
Role: Our client is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their family-run 24/7 hospital that offers flexibility in a workplace dedicated to clinical excellence, continuous progression, and providing a team culture where everyone can thrive.
Candidate: This is a full-time day vet position, specifically suitable for a vet with 'general practitioner' experience with ECC, surgical, and inpatient interests.
Responsibilities:
* 1 surgical shift (general practice)
* 1 x consulting shift (30 min sick pet consults as standard) general practice
* 2 x late inpatient shift (ending at 10pm) - inpatient/ECC shift (inc. Hospital handover, inpatient care, emergency transfers, ECC procedures/surgery, sick pet emergency consults)
* Surgical, Medicine, Dentistry Certificate holder in-house vet support
Hours:
* 1 in 4 weekends (no sole charge, 10 hrs Sat, 10hrs Sun mainly ECC, 30 min sick pet consults, inpatient care)
* 4 day week days (Mon- Fri)
* Varied and complex caseload
Support: Within our client’s clinical team, they have a diverse range of skills and interests with many of their Vet and Nursing team holding certificates in their area of expertise. They have team WhatsApp groups for clinical discussions and support and hold regular in-house CPD sessions in a range of subjects. They have a fantastic management team, including a mental health first aider, so that their vets and nurses can concentrate on providing the high-quality care they pride themselves on. One of the nurses is also training as a life coach to provide further support to our team.
