Job Title: Construction Manager
Location: Manchester and surrounding (May involve travel on occasions)
Days/Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm, 39 per week
Salary: £45 to £55k (dependant on experience) + 10% PCP Car Allowance + Pension
Contract: Permanent
We are currently looking for a Construction Manager for a leading commercial roofing company. As the Construction Manager your role will be to organise and manage contracts to ensure quality, safety, programme and the gross objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities of the Construction Manager:
1. To organise, control and manage contracts department.
2. To monitor all contracts in conjunction with subordinates.
3. To run large contracts.
4. To programme works to suit agreed programme.
5. To ensure that material deliveries meet programme requirements.
6. To prepare/approve subordinates, risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
7. To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Company requirements.
8. Record variations and advise surveyor.
9. Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification.
10. Record compliance with Part L details as applicable.
11. Liaise with Company employed subcontractors to ensure work meets our requirements.
12. Maintain a good working relationship with both our operatives and the Main Contractor/Client.
13. To organise plant, craneage etc to meet programme and cost plan.
14. Attend site meetings as required.
Knowledge and Experience of the Construction Manager:
1. You will need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in: Adaptability, Business Awareness, Detail, Handling, Initiative, Planning and Organising, Plant, Safety, Communication.
2. Working Knowledge of the flat roof industry.
3. Experience of the building and construction industry would be beneficial/essential.
4. General computer awareness.
5. CSCS Black Card or NVQ Level 6.
6. SMSTS.
