The Role
The Maritime team here at Carnival UK are looking to welcome a Project Manager with a range of sector experience who will continue planned projects throughout a 12 month parental leave absence.
The Maritime Project Manager aligns all of the key elements of maritime operations together with integrated strategy, planning and operational delivery. It unifies both ship and shore as a cohesive team and ensures that the fleet is operated in a safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant way.
The Project Manager leads the delivery of agreed projects within maritime. Projects that are managed by this team are often large capital expenditure projects that have significant technical elements.
Primary responsibility of the role is to ensure the project deliverables are attained on time, in adherence with protocols and within budget. The right candidate will possess effective communication skills and the expertise to shape, define and manage a comprehensive project plan. They will be courageous and decisive, effectively prioritise and see the action through to delivery.
* Applies best practice and manages within Carnival UK project governance & assurance frameworks.
* Clearly define, document, and deliver the project objectives.
* Implement and manage agreed governance standards across the project lifecycle.
* Identify and manage dependencies across the project.
* Manage changes (to scope, time and budget) within agreed tolerances and escalate risks.
* Define, manage, and report the project budget.
* Complete project reports as required.
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CU07 and is offered on a 12 month fixed term basis with at least three days based in our Southampton office.
About You
Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need:
* Project Management background across a breadth of functions and/or sectors
* Hold a recognised project management qualification, and well versed in application of industry standard project management techniques in a real project environment
* Experience of developing project management tools including plans, tracking progress, and managing risks and issues, ideally working with waterfall methodology
* Competency with Microsoft Suite of products including MSP.
