Claxton are looking to hire a Quality Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the role holder’s primary responsibility is to lead and manage the overall quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services to our clients. Instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards, procedures, and systems, as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for quality enhancement, arranging and leading audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, and providing guidance and support to employees on quality-related matters, playing a pivotal role in upholding Claxton Engineering Services' reputation for delivering excellence and reliability in the products and services we provide to our valued customers.
Duties & Main Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
2. Oversee that the business conducts the necessary level of inspections, audits, and testing of products and services to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality management system and optimize operational processes.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
5. Monitor key performance indicators related to quality metrics and prepare reports for management review.
6. Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
7. Provide training and guidance to employees on quality processes, standards, and best practices.
8. Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure Claxton Engineering Services remains at the forefront of quality excellence.
9. Advise on energy industry regulations and standards, including SI-913, API and DNV codes.
10. Oversee that the Quality Department is adequately resourced and report any gaps to Senior Management.
11. Oversee preparation and delivery of Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans in accordance with internal and client requirements.
12. Collaborate with other Acteon QHSE role holders to promote best practice.
13. Set-up and regularly monitor regular goals and objectives for all reports, including end of year reviews.
14. Hold monthly 1:1s with each report to manage performance.
15. Actively promote the Claxton Brand Values across the business.
16. Manage recruitment and interview process to fulfil personnel requirements, including contractor management.
17. Manage local Quality team annual leave/lieu days to ensure adequate breaks are taken.
18. Day to day management of Quality team at the site.
19. People development and driving the growth of skills and knowledge within the Quality team.
Required:
1. Degree in Engineering or related field.
2. Certifications such as Six Sigma, ASQ, or similar are desirable.
3. ISO 9001 Auditor qualification.
4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
5. Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, and methodologies.
6. Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives and managing quality control processes.
7. In depth knowledge of oil and gas industry standards & regulations, including those pertaining to equipment inspection and testing, material classes and certification requirements.
8. Background of quality management in machining and fabrication and project management.
9. Writing policies and procedures and their implementation.
10. Computer literate on Microsoft Office packages.
11. Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
12. Advocate for change and can influence others to deliver change initiatives.
13. Experience in managing teams.
