The Operations division is both the first line of defense for protecting Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors.
An opportunity has arisen within the International Tax Operations Glasgow team for an Associate Business Analyst to join the team, to assist the Change the bank stream for the multi-year renovation program for Transaction Tax reporting obligations for the firm. This will involve leading change across various renovation workstreams with delivery in 2025 as well as multi-year workstreams. In order to effectively execute on this role, the candidate is expected to have around 10 years of change the bank/project managing and leading process renovations using established framework and methodology within the Regulatory reporting/Operational tax space. Direct experience in driving change/renovation in Transaction tax will be an added advantage. The role will entail being the bridge between run the bank teams and tech partners in driving the change/renovation and interact across a vast plethora of stakeholders locally and globally.
The Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Assisting change/renovation for Transaction Tax across its multiple workstreams.
2. Escalating and problem-solving any bottlenecks in delivery.
3. Partnering with run the bank and tech teams to execute change.
4. Managing stakeholders.
5. Supporting the risk framework, analyzing Key Risk Indicators, and providing regular updates to senior management on any key risk items.
6. Effective supervision and control of topics and deliverables that the person/team is responsible for.
7. Supporting the technology strategy to improve systemic tax processing and renovation.
8. Adherence to Operational Control Frameworks including effective procedures, checklists, and metrics.
9. Extending support within the ITO teams (local and global) as needed.
10. Assisting change/renovation/project management of regulatory process - direct experience in operational tax/change/renovation will be an added advantage.
Requirements:
1. High proficiency and working experience in effecting process change using established framework and methodology.
2. Strong stakeholder network and ability to work in a global matrix organization.
3. Ability to proactively identify process risks and implement mitigating controls/reduce manual touchpoints.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Experience with Tax frameworks (desired) or alternatively experience with regulatory change deliverables.
