Train Planner | London | up to £45,000 | Hybrid work options
Are you an experienced planner within transport, ideally rail/aerospace?
The Opportunity: We are working with a well-established train operating company based in central London to recruit for a Train Planner. This is the chance to be part of a close-knit team, and gives the right candidate the opportunity to work for a smaller operator, where your voice can be heard.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Developing and managing resource plans and timetables that balance operational, customer, and commercial needs in a cost-effective manner.
2. Collaborating with Network Rail and other train and freight operating companies to ensure successful timetable delivery.
3. Creating contingency plans for adverse weather and industrial action.
4. Supporting engineering access and assisting in short-term timetable production.
5. Maintaining planning trackers and investigating delays.
6. Building stakeholder relationships and delivering training in train planning disciplines.
7. Deputising for the Train Planning Manager when needed.
Candidate Desirables:
1. Experienced train planner (traincrew diagramming) with desire to learn timetabling and rolling stock diagramming.
2. LTP & STP experience (desired).
3. Experienced user of train planning software (TrainTRACS and VoyagerPlan preferred).
4. Good general standard of education.
5. IT literate, including Microsoft Office products.
6. Good knowledge of c2c geography and operations.
7. Ability to communicate in different ways (verbally, in writing etc.) to all levels.
