COMMISSIONING MANAGER – ENVIRONMENT NORMANTON What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for A Commissioning Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business, working within the water sector and primarily within the Yorkshire Water utility area. Ideally, you will based in or around the Normanton area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. Commissioning Manager to join the team covering Water & Waste Treatment for our Yorkshire Water frameworks. Based initially in our Normanton office, the Commissioning Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing installation and commissioning activities during the implementation phase of the Frameworks. This is a highly demanding key role with key inputs throughout the project lifecycle associated with the project delivery. This role is crucial to ensuring that solutions adhere to the Design-to-Commission approach, fostering effective collaboration with the Client, Galliford Try design and delivery teams, the supply chain, and all delivery functions. The focus is on achieving the most cost-efficient and effective installation/commissioning process, including the timely production of documentation for individual projects and the overall program of work. As Commissioning Manager to ensure the efficient delivery of the Mechanical Electrical ICA (MEICA) & Commissioning of projects, to include progress, quality and efficient / effective delivery, working with the project teams to develop a robust resource planning At the core of Galliford Try is the “Design to Commission & Takeover” philosophy, the Commissioning Manager will promote and drive this approach from project conception to completion & Takeover. The role encompasses input to the design process, providing a commissioning overview to the project team, includes preparation of detailed procedures to cover the commissioning activities and ensuring the availability of records demonstrating the configuration / testing completed. To ensure that the MEICA installation activities are completed to the project programmes and in a sequence that promotes efficient commissioning. To support the Project Teams in the successful handover of the projects through collaborative management of snags / defects and demonstrating that quality criteria are met through completion of a performance test process. Responsible for implementing and maintaining MEICA safe systems of work in accordance with Site Health and Safety Management procedures at the projects under your control. This includes a regular assessment of new risks and hazards that may not be specifically covered by safety system documentation already in place. About You: Demonstrated experience managing a multi-discipline team, emphasizing customer satisfaction and sustained motivation throughout extended delivery periods. Proven knowledge of successfully and safely commissioning complex projects within the water industry in a contracting environment. Strong financial and commercial awareness, capable of recognizing and detailing the impact of change. Excellent communication skills to facilitate interaction with the Client/project teams, ensuring successful implementation of the installation/commissioning phase in a collaborative working environment. In-depth working knowledge of water treatment processes, systems, and typical M&E plant/systems/equipment. Ability to provide Line Management support to a small-to-medium-sized team, preferably with an industry-recognized qualification, in a shared working environment, focusing on efficient and quality completion. Proficiency in implementing formal safety systems, combined with behaviour-based approaches within a dynamic environment, promoting compliance through the use of safety documents. Possession of CSCS or ECS card in an appropriate discipline. EUSR Water Hygiene Card. CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS ). Be able to demonstrate the ability in site management and delivery of MEICA / Commissioning and manage the interface with the Client on a regular basis including the prompt resolution of issues affecting project progress Be able to demonstrate MEICA & Commissioning delivery though to successful project Takeover Have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications to facilitate the creation and presentation of reports as required. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches Be able to demonstrate an understanding of water industry processes Be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the water industry. Be able to demonstrate a structured approach to the commissioning of plant, equipment and processes used within the water industry.
