What you will do:
* Oversee the delivery of services for children in care and care leavers, ensuring they receive the right support and care.
* Commission and manage services for children in the care system, while advocating for their rights and promoting positive outcomes.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with senior leadership to ensure effective, child-centred care.
* Collaborate with external partners to enhance service provision and improve outcomes for children and young people.
* Provide training for staff on Leaving Care, and ensure that standards of good practice are established and maintained.
* Assist in planning training and coordination of pathway plans, with a focus on early preparation and target setting for the journey into adulthood.
Skills and Qualifications:
* A professional qualification in social work (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
* Extensive experience working in children's services, particularly in corporate parenting, safeguarding, and commissioning services.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the proven ability to manage teams and resources effectively.
* A solid understanding of statutory responsibilities related to looked-after children and care leavers.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with various stakeholders.
* Experience in service commissioning, contract management, and collaboration with external providers.
