Head of Projects
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, is recruiting a Head of Projects to join the team located in Oxford and surrounding areas.
Purpose Of The Job
Own and deliver the business unit project plan, developing and leading teams in the safe delivery of projects. Ensure projects are secured and delivered on time and within financial requirements and margins as specified by the business, while building external relationships with clients and supply partners to deliver major projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the safe delivery of projects through the management of risk and competence.
2. Recruit and retain talent for the delivery and growth of projects.
3. Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities.
4. Deliver contractual commitments on secured projects.
5. Ensure projects are delivered on all maintenance contracts.
6. Complete projects in line with local playbooks on time, on budget, and to the satisfaction of all parties.
7. Identify, reduce, and manage all risks associated with each project.
8. Maximise profit through cost reductions and better buying of subcontractor services.
9. Plan and develop long-term opportunities by creating a pipeline of opportunities.
10. Liaise with colleagues to determine and identify project opportunities.
11. Develop and manage all bids, tenders, and proposals.
12. Generate and secure new sales to exceed the annual financial plan.
13. Seek out opportunities to generate projects through innovation and different technologies.
14. Lead the sales process through solutions development and participation in presentations.
15. Identify and win projects through effective relationships.
16. Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, and direct contribution to management team meetings.
17. Promote and maintain the core values of CBRE.
18. Support the development of team members.
19. Contribute to business unit strategy development.
20. Manage business unit forecasts.
21. Manage people issues and underperformance.
22. Negotiate contractual obligations and disputes.
23. Chair project review meetings covering Health & Safety and CDM Legislation.
Accountabilities
* Accountable to the Business Unit Leader and Divisional Project Director.
* Generate project opportunities by building strong working relationships with customers and site teams.
* Full P & L responsibility for the Business Unit.
* Accountable as line manager for others.
* Ensure compliance with CBRE health and safety policy.
Person Specification
Education
* Recognised technical qualification in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar (desirable).
* Degree level qualification in Project Management (desirable).
Training
* Degree level qualification in project management, construction management, or equivalent (desirable).
* APM, Prince 2, SMSTS, Nebosh certifications (desirable).
* CSCS card holder.
* IOSH (desirable).
Experience
* Proven track record of delivering exceptional projects in M&E, FM, construction, or critical environments.
* Experience in developing new project opportunities.
* Proven experience of running a P&L.
* Experience in managing a team.
* Experience in creating and managing bids, tenders, and proposals.
