The Culdrose Estates team are focused on improving the experience of the Military, Civil Service, and industry partners staff who live, work, train and operate across the site. We are looking for somebody who has an understanding of estate management, has been responsible for a budget within previous roles, is customer focused and an exceptional leader. Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose delivers the UK’s two highest defence priorities: assuring the nuclear deterrent and protection of the nation’s aircraft carriers. An operational Air Station, Culdrose has a workforce of more than 3000 personnel that are all directly or indirectly involved in generating or supporting the naval air squadrons and their personnel. Job Description This position is a critical Civil Service role at Culdrose, directly responsible to the Commanding Officer (CO), in their role as Head of Establishment (HOE), for the effective and efficient operation of the site, and for its development, in support of the Air Station's mission and vision. It has a key role to play in ensuring the continued effectiveness of the collaborative infrastructure contracting model involving Navy Command Infra, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, contractors and key site stakeholders. It is also a member of the Command Group. A full driving licence will be required to travel across the estate and to visit other sites. Responsibilities Include: Act as Head of Department for the Operations and Development Department. Act as the empowered Deputy Head of Establishment with regard to Infrastructure. Brief the HOE at required intervals and in event of any development liable to impact on the RNAS Culdrose mission or on statutory/regulatory compliance. Oversee internal Culdrose Infra activities, including preparing and chairing quarterly Infra Boards. Attend and co-chair Site Infra Monthly Meetings as the HOE Representative. Oversee compilation and prioritisation of bids for the Capital Infra Delivery (CIDP) and Major Projects (MPP) programmes via the NC Infra-led Annual Budget Cycle. Responsible to the HOE for all In Year Infra financial management, reporting and forecasts. Liaise and agree with DIO the best use of Life Cycle Replacement funding. Maintain a close liaison with relevant SO1s at NCHQ in order to support the establishment of funding lines with Navy Infra. Liaise with NC Infra, DIO and all other external stakeholders required. Chair Siting Boards as required. Provide SME advice to DIO Major Projects and Programmes (MPP) regarding future re-capitalisation projects. Attend MPP progress boards ensuring any impact of ongoing construction projects are understood by the unit and mitigated.
