Senior Data Governance Specialist

Silicon Labs is looking for a Senior Data Governance Specialist. In this role, you will support the Director of Data Governance and Engineering and be responsible for the development and implementation of a Data Governance framework to manage the way we collect, use, and share data throughout the organization.
The objective is to improve the discoverability and quality of data, to help internal and external stakeholders better understand the quantitative and qualitative results of their actions. This, in turn, helps our stakeholders gain trust and confidence in the data and to make data-led decisions.
The role will require strong collaboration with multiple teams across the company, including IT, security, finance, operations, engineering, data architects, data scientists, and data engineers, to ensure that the Data Catalog & data quality tools are properly managed and fully utilized across the company.
The Senior Data Governance Specialist role offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong data skills and experience in data governance to help shape and drive the enterprise-wide delivery of data governance in Silicon Labs.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Support the development and roll-out of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improving data quality, maximizing reuse and derived value of data through modifications to organization behaviour.
2. Collaborate with Business Units and Functional areas to ensure that data-related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, integrated into daily processes, and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
3. Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards across the enterprise.
4. Implement and drive maintenance of the data catalog with consideration for data discoverability, compliance, privacy, information security, and quality.
5. Lead data governance delivery streams to assist the Business Units and Functional areas in becoming compliant with the data governance operating model.
6. Define success indicators for monitoring performance and quality, to track progress and ensure business compliance.
7. Act as a primary point of contact for escalation of data-related queries and data quality issues for the Business Units and Functional area data governance representatives.
Required Skills and Experience:
8. At least 5-7 years of experience in operational data and/or data governance-related roles.
9. Knowledge of and experience with data governance practices, including business and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
10. Demonstrated leadership skills, with change management concepts and strategies related to data management projects, including communication, culture change, and performance measurement system design.
11. Knowledge of data catalog and data quality tooling, including deployment and adoption.
12. Excellent communication & collaboration skills.
