As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within a brand new team in Finance Data, Toolsets and Services (FDTS), you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job responsibilities Develops Java/Python applications integrated with AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB etc. Builds highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems on AWS platform Implements CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment on AWS Troubleshoots and optimizes existing systems for security, performance, availability and cost Collaborates with peers to improve quality through code reviews, driving secure, stable and scalable implementations. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience Hands-on practical experience in developing, debugging, optimising and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages (Java and/or Python) and database querying languages Experience/knowledge of AWS serverless computing and microservices architecture Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Ability to write secure, testable, maintainable code Ability to solve data-oriented problems using multiple relevant technologies e.g. SQL, Relational DB, Spark, NoSQL while optimizing for performance Good understanding of object oriented analysis and design Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience of Spark performance tuning of complex queries on large datasets Experience of Big Data technologies Experience of Databricks or Cloudera Experience of building Fullstack applications Exposure to working in an agile development (e.g. story pointing etc)
