Job summary Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a 9PA Consultant or Specialist Grade in Microbiology. You will join three other Microbiology consultant colleagues to provide a comprehensive microbiology, virology & infection control service, based at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. We represent the western hub of a collaborative Dorset-wide service, "One Dorset Pathology." Our eastern counterpart is based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital University. Dorchester is a charming town surrounded by gorgeous rolling "Thomas Hardy" countryside. The legendary Jurassic coast is only 10 miles from the hospital. Applicants for the consultant post should be on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT in Microbiology or Infectious Diseases) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Specialist Grade applicants should have comparable experience. About us The Pathology Department at Dorset County Hospital has recently joined with the Pathology Departments at Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital to create a network entitled One Dorset Pathology (ODP). ODP have recently gone through a very large program of change including alignment of our laboratory information management system across the county and implementation of a manage service contract for the majority of services.
