About the role:
This is a growth role within our 1lod Risk Team, reporting directly to our Head of Incident Management. This role will sit within the 1LoD Risk and Control Team and will support managers by:
* Responding to and co-ordinating Incidents impacting the Bank; ranging from moderate to major incidents.
* Monitoring adherence to the Incident Management and Escalation Framework, and driving continuous improvements.
* Reviewing Incident impacts, root cause and lessons learned.
* Assist in the establishment of an Incident Management Command Structure, including design, development and ongoing testing.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Co-ordination of Operational Incidents impacting the Bank. Driving incident resolution actions from identification through to completion and independently capable of conducting Post Incident Reviews.
* Tracking of audit trail for incidents and aligning Post Incident Reviews with agreed actions.
* Conducting assurance activities on incidents and incident management driving consistency and continuous improvement.
* Development of reporting and management information covering incident management and wider risk impacts.
* Reviewing the risk and control environment, including conducting thematic reviews of incidents.
* Working with Risk and Control owners by providing advice, challenge and input on key decisions, ensuring Risk and Control owners are aware and accountable and enabling them to clearly articulate and manage their risk profile.
* Assisting key stakeholders on the identification of risk and creation of controls including development of continuous monitoring approaches.
* Identifying control deficiencies and areas for enhancement.
* Providing training to stakeholders on the incident management framework, incident response activities and tracking of Post Incident actions in GRC tooling.
* Key contributor to the ongoing development of a risk aware culture within Starling.
Requirements
Regulatory:
* Extensive experience of Incident Management in complex environments.
* An understanding of risk management frameworks within large organisations.
* Understanding of Operational Risk, Conduct Risk and the Consumer Duty would be an advantage.
* A natural ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and experience in challenging the status quo.
* Excellent communicator with demonstrable experience of communicating in high stress situations to all levels within the business.
* Proven experience in Crisis Management for large institutions or organisations with experience of invoking and operating Crisis Management frameworks such as Gold, Silver & Bronze structure.
* An inquisitive analytical mind is key and proven experience running serious / complex incident investigations is essential.
* A proactive approach to managing workloads and ‘can do’ attitude, along with ability to use initiative, taking ownership and seeing things through.
Skills:
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel/ Google Sheets- strong knowledge of database management and reporting.
* Exposure to working within First or Second line risk or as a risk champion within a business line.
