Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including home care, care homes, and hospice environments. Responsibilities
1. Provide direct support and assistance to clients in daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
2. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including behaviour management strategies.
3. Assist with medical tasks as necessary, utilising knowledge of medical terminology.
4. Maintain accurate records of client progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
5. Support clients with mobility and personal care needs, fostering independence wherever possible.
6. Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required.
7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
8. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in first aid and other relevant areas.
Skills
1. Strong understanding of case management principles and practices.
2. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to the care industry.
3. Experience in providing hospice care or home care services is highly desirable.
4. Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience towards clients.
6. Competence in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
7. Valid driving licence for transporting clients when necessary.
8. Previous experience working in a care home setting is an advantage.
