About the role
The following tasks are not an exhaustive list of responsibilities for a Team Manager and are subject to change:
1. Manage the delivery operation team including recruitment, training, and performance management of all spoke drivers.
2. Chair meetings with drivers, including absence, disciplinary, and welfare meetings in line with Ocado policies.
3. Manage site operations, ensuring all KPIs, targets, and deadlines are met without disruption to the business.
4. Ensure all health and safety measures are in place and followed, and that all training requirements are met and up to date at all times.
This role is for 40 hours per week, working a variation of 10-hour shifts on any 4 days from 7 rotation, including some weekend working.
About you
The ideal candidate will shape and drive a world-class employee experience and environment to attract and retain the right people and lead teams to foster a culture of respect, identity, loyalty, trust, and aspiration.
1. Ensure KPIs are a vital focus across your site, including labour turnover, absence rates, and engagement scores.
2. Continuously encourage self-improvement, training, and development of teams to support succession planning and drive initiatives that enhance site-wide engagement and morale.
3. Previous experience in conducting formal meetings and applying relevant policies appropriately is desired.
4. Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills are a must, along with a passion for dealing with people and a focus on achieving employee satisfaction.
5. Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance is preferred; previous experience in a spoke/warehouse or logistics environment is highly desirable.
