About the role:
Due to continued business growth, we have an opening for an experienced Sales Executive to join the National Sales team for the West Midlands, where they will be field-based and responsible for driving performance increases to the sales revenue, profitability, and product uptake.
Working closely with the regional’s operational leadership team, the role holder will identify, assess, pursue, and win business opportunities within the region, ensuring accounts are appropriate and attractive for both DHL eCommerce and the Customer. They will need to maintain a thorough knowledge of the products available and remain abreast of all new product developments to enable successful matching between the customers' requirements and products delivered.
As a Field Sales Executive, you will need to identify who the decision-makers are and build the relationships required to successfully win business. You will also need to identify when an opportunity is unsuitable and focus only on those opportunities that align with the scope and scale for your sector.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience gained within a core sales environment and naturally find motivation in achieving sales targets. It is advantageous to have previously held a field-based position, whereas it is a requirement to have the ability to communicate, engage, and interpret the needs of the customer. A deep understanding of the end-to-end business development lifecycle is also a must-have.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and onboard new business opportunities to contribute towards sales targets and KPIs.
2. Take ownership of the designated territory, ensuring all potential opportunities are identified and assessed.
3. Schedule visits to decision-makers in prospect companies, using learned skills and personal knowledge and experience to close business.
4. Conduct market mapping activities to identify potential new business opportunities, who the decision-makers are, and what the requirements will be, enabling efficient and informed decision-making ensuring only true leads are pursued.
5. Be a product expert, answering customer questions relating to the product specifications and pricing.
6. Confidently explain and negotiate our commercial offering.
7. Accurately and efficiently collate and record customer information into our CRM tool.
8. Consistently onboard new clients through maintaining a pipeline of prospect customers.
9. Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all DHL products and services sold and keep current on industry developments.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. The ability and desire to sell DHL eCommerce products.
2. Previous experience gained within a field-based sales position/environment, desirable.
3. Results-focused, motivated by meeting targets and achieving high performance.
4. The ability to attain revenue targets while under pressure.
5. The ability to work with data provided and utilize this to make informed decisions and identify potential business leads.
