Summary
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Engineering Team to support their French facility.
They are looking for someone who is proficient in using 3D CAD tools and can create new or edit existing CAD drawings. The ideal candidate will be methodical, organised, and able to manage multiple projects as their projects can last anywhere from a few days to several months.
Requirements
* Communicate with all staff in a courteous and clear manner.

* Have a team approach and contribute to meetings as required.
* Be punctual in attendance and complete tasks by agreed deadlines.

* Maintain a tidy and organised workplace; tools and equipment supplied should be looked after and used responsibly.
* Follow all company policies and procedures, including quality, environment, and H&S practices.
Essential Skills
* HNC/HND or Degree level in Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum of 1 year experience within a mechanical design department.
* SolidWorks solid modelling and detail drawing experience.
* AutoCAD LT2004 onwards experience essential.
* Computer literate, able to create and maintain MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents to a high standard.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual, English and French.
* Full driving license and passport.
Tasks and Duties
* Design and modification of sheet and extruded metal housings for their product range.
* Design suitable brackets for mounting their products in customer applications.
* Provide 3D models of new products to assist in tendering/quoting processes.
* Design and maintain existing cable assembly drawings.
* Design and maintain existing system wiring diagrams.
* Close liaison with Production Support and Quality departments on best practices for cable assembly manufacture.
* Close liaison with the worldwide sales team on cable assembly and system wiring requirements.
* Visit customer sites in both the UK and worldwide.
* Provide production support for both UK and worldwide production facilities.
* Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed and directed by Team or Department Management.
* Carry out any other duties as deemed necessary by your Department Manager.
