We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support students with a range of complex learning difficulties, including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning difficulties. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to enhance students' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development in both one-to-one and small group settings. Assist with daily classroom activities, creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs). Support students with challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and restorative practices. Encourage student independence, self-advocacy, and confidence through life skills training and skill-building activities. Help students access the differentiated curriculum, fostering engagement and participation in learning.Candidate Requirements: Proven experience working with individuals with SEND, Autism (ASD), or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges, preferably in an educational setting. A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to the holistic development of young people. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with students, families, and colleagues. A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs and overcoming challenges. Safeguarding training and a solid understanding of child protection policies are highly desirable.Desirable Qualifications and Skills: Relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Learning Support, or Youth Work. Training in Team Teach, de-escalation strategies, or positive behaviour management techniques. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, mental health first aid, or supporting students with physical disabilities. Knowledge of adaptive learning techniques and working within an alternative provision or specialist setting.To Be Eligible for This Role You Must: Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
