Locum MASH Social Worker – Blackpool Council Rate: £42 per hour Contract: Locum – Maternity Cover Team: Multi Agency Request for Support Hub (MASH) Location: Blackpool Hours: Full-time (37) Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced and confident Social Worker to join their Multi Agency Request for Support Hub (MASH) as part of a locum maternity cover arrangement. This is a key role in the front-door service, where you will support the triage and screening of all requests for support and referrals into Children’s Services. You will play a central role in safeguarding children by working closely with partner agencies to ensure the right service response in line with the Levels of Need. Key Responsibilities: Triage and screen incoming requests for support and phone calls to Children’s Services. Liaise with professionals from a wide range of partner agencies including health, education, and the police. Provide professional advice and decision-making regarding thresholds and appropriate next steps. Ensure that referrals are signposted correctly, either into statutory social work teams or to early help services. Maintain high-quality and timely recording on relevant case management systems. Please note: This role does not involve case holding. Requirements: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in statutory children’s social work. Strong understanding of safeguarding processes and thresholds. Confident decision-maker with excellent multi-agency liaison skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities. Skilled in writing concise and purposeful records and reports. Experience using systems such as Mosaic or other children’s social care databases. HCPC/Social Work England registered. Able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and reflective practice.
