The Raytheon UK Weapons team has a fantastic opportunity for a new engineer to join and assist in delivering complex and high-profile programmes to customers based in the UK. As a result of new contracts, the engineering team is rapidly growing and therefore we are looking for a motivated Embedded Systems Engineer with a background in embedded software systems, system architecture, designing to a set of requirements and with a keen interest in weapon systems.
Main Duties:
* Create and manage architectures for complex embedded systems
* Understand, decompose and verify embedded system requirements
* Define and perform unit level and sub system level testing for embedded software systems
* Work alongside our embedded software, firmware and electronic design engineers
* Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
* Experience creating embedded system architectures
* Experience testing and verifying requirements
* Ability to program in C/C++
* Able to present technical information clearly and concisely to others
* Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills
* An openness to learn and try new techniques
* Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment - working independently or with others to overcome obstacles
* Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data
* Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance
Desirable:
* Experience using the Vivado and Vitis design tools, or equivalent
* Experience delivering an embedded system as a product
* Experience creating hardware system architectures
* Familiarity with the application of a systems engineering approach across the design and development lifecycle
* Knowledge of defence engineering / airborne standards
* Working with Model Based System Engineering tools such as Simulink
* Weapon systems domain knowledge and/or experience in a similar field
