Manchester Communication Academy is a dynamic institution deeply embedded in the community, dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes for all students. Located in Harpurhey and its surroundings, MCA is an 11-16 secondary school with an adjacent primary school. Collaboration between the two is pivotal to our ethos.

Job Overview:
The School Data and MIS Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Management Information Systems (MIS) to ensure accurate and efficient data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role is crucial in supporting the school's strategic decision-making processes by providing high-quality data insights. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, teaching staff, and administrative teams to enhance the use of data across the academy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the school's MIS, ensuring data integrity and security.
* Develop and implement processes for data collection, entry, and analysis.
* Produce timely and accurate reports for senior leadership, governors, and external stakeholders.
* Provide training and support to staff on data management and MIS usage.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and school policies.
* Analyse and interpret data to support school improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve MIS-related issues.
* Stay updated on the latest developments in educational data management and MIS technologies.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in managing MIS and data systems within an educational setting
* Experience with specific MIS software SIMS.
* Previous experience in a school - minimum 12 months
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* High level of proficiency in using Sims software and other data management tools.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience with specific MIS software such as SIMS.
* Previous experience in a school.
